WASHINGTON – The Georgetown softball team fell to Seton Hall 4-2 on Friday afternoon. The Hoyas are now 5-17 overall, 1-3 in BIG EAST play while Seton Hall advances to 11-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
How It Happened
- The Pirates were first to score in the first inning with an RBI off a single to center field.
- Seton Hall tacked another two onto its lead in the third, and the 3-0 score would stand through the fourth inning.
- Sophia Scarangella put the Hoyas on the board with a single to right field, sending Morgan Zamora across the plate and bringing the score to 3-1 in the fifth.
- The Pirates answered with an additional run in the bottom of the fifth.
- A home run in the sixth by Mae Forshey would cut the Pirate lead to two, and the 4-2 score would stand for the rest of the inning.
- The Hoyas were unable to close the deficit in the top of the seventh, finalizing the 4-2 score.

Georgetown will continue its series against Seton Hall tomorrow with a doubleheader. Due to weather, Sunday's contest was canceled and the Hoyas and Pirates will now play a doubleheader on Saturday. The first pitch in South Orange, New Jersey is scheduled for noon and the second game will begin at approximately 2 p.m.
