WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (5-5) captured a home win 13-8 over Dartmouth (2-4) on Tuesday afternoon. Eight Hoyas scored at least one goal en route to the victory.

Ricky Fried. "I was pleased with how we started the game. We got a great effort from our defensemen in the field. We played as a complete unit all the way back to the goalie. I think there is a lot to build on as we move forward and get ready for UPenn next week."
How It Happened
- The Hoyas came out strong putting up three goals in the first quarter. Erin Bakes landed the first of the contest at the 12:36 mark followed by an unassisted goal by Lily Tardif at the 6:21 mark. Gracie Driggs notched her second goal of the season from a free position shot with 2:07 left in the quarter. Emily Gaven made six saves to hold the Big Green scoreless in the first.
- The Big Green came out fast in the second with a goal 35 seconds into the quarter. Driggs found the back of the net four minutes later off an assist from Emma Gebhardt. Dartmouth was quick to respond again with a goal from Isabella Godsick 17 seconds later. A minute later the Hoyas went on a four-goal run sparked by a goal from Katie Goldsmith. The Big Green would close out the half with a goal from Maya Kendall at the 1:27 mark. The Hoyas held an 8-3 lead at halftime.
- The Big Green got on the board first at the 12:26 mark of the third quarter but the Blue & Gray's offense responded with a five-goal run to go up 13-4. The Hoyas outshot the Big Green 8-5 in the third.
- Maley Starr scored her first goal of the afternoon for GU 30 seconds into the fourth quarter. Godsick responded for Dartmouth 20 seconds later with her second goal of the contest. The Big Green would make one last push with a four-goal run to close out the fourth quarter but the Hoyas would claim the victory 13-8.
Of Note
- Bakes led the Hoyas with three goals and two assists followed by Hazen with two goals and two assists. Goldsmith and Driggs both added two goals while four additional Hoyas recorded one goal each.
- Nicole Massimino recorded a team best three caused turnovers and three ground balls followed by Melissa Massimino with two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
- At the draw, Lily Athanas and Driggs led with three draw controls apiece.
- In net, Gaven made 10 saves in the first half to record a save percentage of .769.
- Georgetown outshot Dartmouth 35-28 and made 15 saves compared to the Big Green's nine.

The Hoyas will travel up to Philadelphia on March 26 to square off against the University of Pennsylvania for one last non-conference matchup. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
