WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team won its fourth-straight game with a 17-15 victory over visiting Lehigh on Saturday afternoon. The No. 17/16 Hoyas improve to 4-3 on the year while the Mountain Hawks fall to 5-3.
Hoya Highlights
How it Happened
- Georgetown struck first on the opening possession with the first of Dordevic's six goals. The Mountain Hawks would respond with three-straight before another Dordevic goal at the 3:53 mark made it a 3-2 Lehigh lead after the first.
- The Hoyas tied things up early in the second to spark a high-scoring, back-and-forth second quarter. Both teams combined for 15 goals in the frame with the Blue & Gray scoring the final pair in the last two minutes to force a 10-10 tie going into halftime.
- Coming out of the break, the Hoyas took advantage of a non-releasable penalty for two quick scores from Minicus and Halpert in the opening minute of the second half. Dordevic would post a hat trick in the third quarter alone to push the Hoya lead to 15-12 going into the final stanza.
- Goals from Bundy and Crogan gave the Hoyas their largest lead of the game at 17-12 with just over 10 minutes to play. Lehigh would score three goals in a 1:55 span to pull within a pair at 17-15 with 4:50 remaining but couldn't get any closer thanks to Georgetown's strong defensive stand down the stretch.
