Hoya Women’s Golf Currently in Fifth at Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON – Despite the second round of play being suspended due to darkness, the Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in fifth place in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate team standings. Round 1 was delayed in the morning due to water puddling on the greens from rain in the morning on the par-72, 6,057-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort. William & Mary is hosting the 19-team tournament held in Williamsburg, Virginia.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the midst of the second round, Megan Gormley is the top Hoya currently at 1-over par and in sole possession of 12th place with 11 student-athletes tied for first at even par. After completing 33 holes, the junior has tallied eight birdies and 16 pars.
  • Through 34 holes, Kaitlyn Lees is the second-leading scorer for the Blue & Gray at 11 over and is tied for 48th place. The grad student has recorded three birdies to go with 21 pars.
  • Esther Park is currently the third Hoya on the leaderboard carding a 12 over through 32 holes tallying three birdies and 18 pars. She is tied for 53rd.
  • Through 34, Angela Lee is tied for 69th at 14-over par. A trio of birdies to her name, the freshman also managed 17 pars.
  • Lauren May is tied for 88th at 18 over and she has tallied one birdie and 15 birdies through 30 holes.

UP NEXT
Following the completion of all 54 holes of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, Georgetown will head to Howard University's Lady Bison Invitational held at the Baltimore Country Club on April 10-11.
