Hoyas Down Wildcats in BIG EAST Opener

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Villanova Wildcats 10-5 in the opening game of BIG EAST play. The Hoyas move to 15-11 on the season as Villanova slides to 4-20.

ON THE RECORD
"Great job today from our guys to open BIG EAST play. Cody Jensen gave us another great start giving us a good chance today. Our bullpen was fantastic with Jordan Yoder and Garret Keough getting five strikeouts in the back part of the game was big for us and really proud of their effort. Offensively, we were down two early and Jake Hyde hit the home run that got us going on offense. We did a lot of really good things in the middle part of the game and then in the last inning we were able to get a little separation from them, but we knew they wouldn't go away. Proud of our guys to come out here on the road in our first BIG EAST game and get the job done. Excited to get back at it tomorrow for game two." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
