PRINCETON, N.J. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team earned its first win of the 2023 season with a 13-10 victory on the road at No. 6/5 Princeton on Saturday. Playing against their third-straight nationally ranked opponent, the Hoyas improve to 1-3 on the year while the Tigers drop to 2-2.

How it Happened
- McDermott put the Hoyas on the board early at the 13:23 mark before Princeton responded with back-to-back goals to take their first – and only – lead of the game. Trading runs to a 4-4 tie late in the first quarter, Dordevic's first goal with 11 seconds left courtesy of a Kelly assist gave the Blue & Gray a 5-4 lead they would not relinquish.
- With the Hoyas man up early in the second, Dordevic and Kelly connected once again 23 seconds in before McDermott scored again less than two minutes later to give GU a 7-4 advantage. Princeton would close out the half with a pair of unanswered goals to make it a 7-6 Hoya lead going into the break.
- Coming out of the locker room after halftime, Georgetown went on a 5-0 run to lead 12-6 with Minicus scoring twice, Bundy adding a man up goal and both Dordevic and McDermott completing their hat tricks.
- A late goal in the third, followed by back-to-back scores from the Tigers in the fourth made it 12-9 but Kelly's goal with 2:42 gave Georgetown a four-goal cushion en route to the 13-10 victory.
Princeton Notes
- Coulter Mackesy led the Tigers with five goals and an assist while Jake Stevens had three goals and an assist.
- Stevens was also credited with three caused turnovers.
- In goal, Griffen Rakower and Michael Gianforcaro split duties with Rakower giving up seven first half goals despite collecting 11 saves.
Hoya Notes
- Georgetown improves to 2-6 all-time against Princeton and the win is the first ever over the Tigers in the regular season.
- Bundy moves into sole possession of 10th place all-time in career scoring at Georgetown, passing Michael Mauboussin ('86) with 141 points.
- Bowen passes Joe LiCalzi (F'21) for ninth all-time in career caused turnovers at Georgetown with 40.
