WASHINGTON – Despite a slow start to the third round, the Georgetown University women's golf team was able to regroup and finished fifth of 11 teams at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The Hoyas tied for fifth with a 54-hole score of 42-over 906 (303-302-301) at the par-72, 6,123-yard course designed by Ernie Els at the Hoakalei Country Club.
HOW IT HAPPENED
"After a tough start today, we leveled out with some birdies but couldn't quite pull it all together and post a number to move up. Overall, I am proud of how we fought through the conditions and had a great mentality to be able to experience golf in Hawaii and play in an event that started 37 years ago. We know what we have to work on over the next few weeks to be ready for Kingsmill, another great venue." - Head Coach
Kate Schanuel
