WASHINGTON – Following 36 holes on a crisp sunny day at the Baltimore Country Club, the Georgetown women's golf team currently leads the nine-team field at the Lady Bison Invitational with a 28-over par 604 (299-305). The Hoyas are currently second as a team in both pars (101) and birdies (20) on the par-72, 6,127-yard East Course at BCC with tournament host Howard holding a slight advantage in pars (102) and Merrimack leading in birdies (22).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following 36 holes, Megan Gormley is the team's leader at 2-over 146 (74-72) and in sole possession of third place. The junior managed seven birdies on the day and her even par in the second round tied for the best showing along with Merrimack's Prakruthi Sastry, who is currently tied for first place.
- Kaitlyn Lees jumped up 12 spots after the first round to close two rounds tied for eighth at 10-over 154 (79-75). A consistent performer on the course, Lees opened the second round on hole two with an eagle while adding a birdie on 16.
- Esther Park matched Lees' two-round score and is tied for eighth (+10, 75-79). The senior managed six birdies, three apiece in the first and second rounds, on holes 2, 3 and 10.
- Gabriella Gilrowski carded an 11-over 155 (76-79) following two rounds of play. The first round saw the junior tally a trio of birdies on holes 2, 15 and 18.
- Lauren May closed the second round tied for 20th at 14-over 158 (74-84). She managed a trio of birdies with two in the first round and one in the second.
