WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team rolled UMBC 13-4 in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday evening. The Hoyas' 11 runs in the first three innings helps move the Blue & Gray to 19-15 on the season while UMBC slides to 14-15.

ON THE RECORD
"Great win for our guys and two midweeks this week was a challenge and a lot of guys stepped up and played really well. Proud of Kai Leckszas who gave us a great start and to see him go out and compete for six inning was awesome. Alex Fenton, Kyle Salley and Cody Bowker behind him were able to do what they needed to do on the mound. Jordan Kahn was fantastic today with three hits and he really gave us a lot of energy and that was the highlight of the day. Owen Carapellotti, Austin Kretzschmar and Christian Ficca's home runs were big for us and helped give us a cushion. We played pretty clean defensively and it was just a great team effort. Looking forward to getting Hoya Nation out to Nats Academy this weekend where we host Creighton and this Saturday the 15th is Youth Day so we are really looking forward to that and will have a lot of great stuff for the fans." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson

Kretzschmar doubled in the next at bat bringing home Eze and Ficca was tagged out at the plate. Bergeron stepped up and hit an RBI triple and GU took the 4-0 lead into the second.
  • In the second, the Hoyas added five runs fueled by a Kretzschmar two-run shot to left center as the Hoya lead ballooned to nine. In the bottom half of the inning, UMBC was able to add its first tally of the day.
