WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team downed the Creighton Bluejays at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy 8-3. The Hoyas improve to 20-16 and 4-4 in conference play while the Bluejays slide to 15-13 and 3-2 in BIG EAST action.
ON THE RECORD
"Really proud of our guys and how we bounced back and found a way to get it done today.
Andrew Williams gave us a great start and
Jordan Yoder was solid behind him.
Tyler Mead was outstanding tonight getting the save for us. Defensively, we played a clean game and didn't give them anything and that was our adjustment for day two and really proud of our execution. Offensively,
Michael Eze's home run early,
Jake Hyde's home run,
Marco Castillos defensive play and sac bunt as well as
Cody Bowker's RBI were pivotal for us. All around it was a great game and we know that tomorrow it is going to be a challenge, but we will be ready to come out and compete with first pitch at 12:30 p.m." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
