WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (6-8, BE 1-2) fell 13-12 in a tight battle to Villanova (10-4, BE 2-2) at home on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened
	- The Wildcats got the scoring started early with a free position goal from Caroline Curnal at the 14:14 mark. GU and Villanova exchanged two pairs of goals over the next five minutes. The Hoyas took control of the lead 4-3 with back-to-back goals at the end of the first. 
- In the second quarter, Villanova scored four consecutive goals. Kylie Hazen landed the Hoyas' lone goal of the quarter off a free position shot with 15 seconds remaining. At the half, the Wildcats led 7-5.
- The Blue & Gray tied the score at 7-7 with two early goals in the third quarter. After both teams exchanged a set of goals, Villanova jumped out to a two-goal lead. Erin Bakes found the back of the net at the 2:25 mark to bring the Hoyas within one at the end of the quarter. 
- Maley Starr tied the contest 10-10 at the 13:10 mark of the fourth quarter. The Hoyas and the Wildcats would exchange a set of goals before Villanova scored two consecutive goals to grab the 13-11 lead. The Hoyas would land a final goal at the 1:16 mark but Villanova would earn the 13-12 win.

The Hoyas will hit the road on Tuesday for a two-game road trip beginning with a mid-week contest against UConn on Wednesday at 2 p.m. GU will then travel to Colorado to face Denver on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
