HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The Georgetown University women's golf team tied for second place after shooting a 14-over 302 in the second round of the 2023 BIG EAST Championships presented by JEEP. The Hoyas hold a two-round score of 43-over 619 (317-302) on the par-72, 6,170 yard course at the Riverton Pointe Golf and Country Club in Hardeeville, South Carolina. The Hoyas are tied with Creighton going into Wednesday's final round and 12 strokes behind Xavier.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gabriella Gilrowski is in sole possession of third place at 5-over 149 (77-72) and her even par for round two was the second-best score on the day. The junior managed a trio of pars on holes 1, 18 and 14.
• Kaitlyn Lees is tied for eighth after a 5-over 77 in the second round and has an overall score of 12-over 156 (79-77). Lees' play was fueled by a pair of birdies (holes 5 and 15) and an eagle on 8. She was one of a trio of Hoyas to birdie on 15.
• Lauren May is tied for 10th overall at 13-over 157 (80-77) and also recorded a 5-over 77 on the day. May closed the round on a high note with a pair of birdies in the final four holes at 15 and 17.
• Megan Gormley is in 18th with a two-round score of 18-over 162 (83-79) after carding a 7-over 79 in the second round. Gormley also birdied 15 and 17 to close the second round strong.
• Angela Lee shot a 4-over 76 in the second round tallying a pair of birdies on 2 and 8.
• For the tournament, the Hoyas are second in birdies with 22 behind Xavier (25) and third in pars with 89 behind the Musketeers (95) and Creighton (92). Gilrowski leads the individual field with 23 pars.
