WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to Cincinnati on Tuesday morning 10-6 in Cincinnati, Ohio. With the loss the Hoyas slide to 27-24 while Cincinnati improves to 23-29.
ON THE RECORD
"Tough day for us today. I am proud of the way we battled back being down 9-1 and we got it to within striking distance there in the last inning and that was great to see. It was great to see
Garret Keough,
Andrew Williams and
Andrew Citron out there on the mound and they gave us a chance there in the middle part of the game and I am really happy with how they pitched. Offensively, they kept us off balance and their pitcher did a great job the first six innings of the game. We were able to take advantage of some free bases later on in the game which helped and
Zaid Walker with three hits and
Christian Ficca's home run were big for us.
Travis Ilitch off the bench with two hits was fantastic to see and it helped give us a chance later on in the game. I was proud of our effort tonight and we look forward to getting back to work tomorrow and being ready for our final conference series that starts Thursday." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
