MILWAUKEE – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team broke multiple BIG EAST postseason records in a 19-8 win over Providence in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP on Thursday evening. The top-seeded and eighth-ranked Hoyas set the league record for goals and points in a BIG EAST Championship game while
Tucker Dordevic broke the individual single game goals and points mark as well.
Hoya Highlights
- Dordevic led Georgetown with a career-high seven goals to go with three assists for 10 points. His 10 points broke former Hoya standout Lucas Wittenberg's nine points against Providence in the 2019 semifinals and topped Denver's Alex Simmons' six goal performance against Villanova in the 2022 semifinals. Dordevic's 10 points are tied for second most in a single game for a Hoya.
How it Happened
- Georgetown opened the game on a tear as Dordevic scored just 31 seconds into the game en route to a 4-0 lead at the 8:40 mark. The Friars got on the board two minutes later, but the Hoyas responded with four-straight goals to lead 8-1 with 2:50 to go in the period. Providence would add a pair of late goals, including one with one second remaining, to salvage an 8-3 deficit after the first. Dordevic had six of his 10 points in the opening frame with three goals and three assists.
- An evenly paced second quarter saw both teams match each other with three goals apiece. The Hoyas scored three of the first four goals in the frame to lead 11-4 but PC held the Blue & Gray scoreless the final 9:26 of the half while adding two goals of its own to make it 11-6 at halftime.
- Coming out of the break, the Hoyas left no doubt as to the outcome behind a torrid 6-1 offensive production. Dordevic had another hat trick in the third quarter alone while Bundy completed his hat trick with four seconds left to give GU a 17-7 lead going into the final 15 minutes of play.
- Georgetown's reserves took the reins in the final frame and held off the Friars the rest of the way, posting a pair of goals and killing two man-down situations in the process.
Providence Notes
- Michael Chabra led the Friars with three goals. He was the only PC player with more than one point.
- Defensively, Grant Latimer was credited with two caused turnovers to go with four ground balls.
- In goal, James Corasaniti had seven saves in the loss.

- Georgetown's 19 goals are a single game record in BIG EAST Championship play, as is its 32 total points with 13 assists.
- The Hoyas advance to their fifth-straight BIG EAST Championship Final and sixth in program history.
- Haley moves into 24th all-time in career scoring at Georgetown, passing Mark Murphy ('90) with 117 points.
- Bundy ties Chris Remington ('95) for eighth place all-time in career goals on the Hilltop with 117.
- Dordevic moves into a tie with Scott Urick ('00) in 1999 for ninth-most points in a single season with 65.
- Georgetown has now won 11-straight following an 0-3 start to the season.
