Georgetown Downed by Butler

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon 20-7 in seven innings. With the loss, the Hoyas slide to 25-23 on the season and 8-9 in conference play and Butler improves to 11-36 on the season and 4-11 in conference action.

ON THE RECORD
"Give Butler all the credit in the world, they beat us. We have to play better in all phases of the game. They were outstanding today, and their offense was electric, and we couldn't get a stop. We didn't do the things we needed to do in order to win. Ubaldo Lopez was a bright spot for us offensively with two home runs moving into second all-time. Unfortunately, we just didn't get enough guys on base, and we didn't execute, and they got stops when they needed to. We made a couple of costly errors that affected us but all the credit to Butler, they beat us and played fantastic. We will regroup and we look forward to getting back out here Tuesday to face Maryland Eastern Shore." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
