WASHINGTON – Barnes Blake won the 106th Metropolitan Junior Championship at Echo Lake sponsored by MetLife on his home course on Wednesday afternoon. Blake defeated Liam Pasternak three and two in the championship matchup.
 
Blake became just the second player to finish as stroke play medalist or co-medalist and go on to win the championship, joining Christian Cavaliere from 2016. He is also the first player to win at their home club since 2017.
 
Blake played fantastic throughout the course of the event advancing to the semifinals with a three and two win. In the semis, Blake continued his hot streak downing his opponent four and three.
 
After a birdie on the par-4 16th hole, Blake captured his first MGA victory and earned an exemption into the 121st Met Amateur at Friar's Head in August.
