Volleyball Welcomes Five Newcomers for 2023

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team welcomes five newcomers to the Hilltop for the 2023 campaign, as announced by Head Coach AJ Bonetti on Monday. Grace Albaugh, Mei Corricello, Maria Filippova, Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Emily Wen comprise the incoming class that will join 13 returners for the Hoyas from a year ago.
 
"I'm excited to welcome this freshman class to the Hilltop and start their training as a new member of the Hoya Volleyball Family," Bonetti said. "They each bring their own unique skillset and diverse personalities to the team, which will make for an exciting road ahead!"

Jacksonville, Fla. | Bolles School
 
Prior to Georgetown
  • Lettered all four years at the Bolles School and was named captain as a junior and senior
  • Recorded 1,247 kills, 635 digs and 184 aces during her career
  • Graduated as Bolles School's all-time leader in career kills
  • Led Bolles to a 20-8 record in class 4A and a regional quarterfinalist appearance as a senior in 2022
  • Named 2022 AVCA All-America Third Team, 2022 AVCA All Region First Team, 2022 AVCA Best & Brightest First Team, 2022 PrepVolleyball High School Honorable Mention All-American
  • Three-time AAU All-Academic (2020, 2021, 2022)
  • USA Today Northeast Florida Player of the Year finalist (2022, 2021), Florida Times-Union All First Coast Team (2022, 2021, 2020, 2019)
Why Georgetown: "Georgetown was a dream school of mine since I was 12 years old. My grandparents lived in the DMV and I remember my first visit to Georgetown like it was yesterday. I was in awe of the campus, location and surrounding neighborhood. As I grew older I developed a passion for history, literature, human rights and law, and there is no better school than Georgetown for my interests. When the opportunity to play volleyball at Georgetown presented itself, it was a no-brainer as it was a perfect mix of academic environment and athletic opportunity.  I am so excited and honored to be a Hoya."

  • Started three seasons and was captain as a senior at Lynbrook
  • Helped Lynbrook to the 2021 CCS DII Semifinals and the 2019 League Championship
  • Named SCVAL All-League Most Valuable Player and Lynbrook Most Valuable Player as a senior in 2022

  • Helped Northwest to a division championship in 2021

Emily Wen

Prior to Georgetown
  • Lettered all four years at Polytechnic School including serving as captain as a junior and senior
  • Tallied 912 assists, 714 kills, 302 digs and 91 aces during her high school career
  • Led Polytechnic to the 2022 Division IV CIF Semifinals as a senior, a co-Prep League championship in 2021 as a junior and back-to-back Prep League championships in 2019 and 2020
  • Reached the CIF Division III Semifinals as a freshman in 2019 as well
  • Named All-Prep League First Team and selected Division IV All CIF-SS as a senior in 2022
  • Named the Prep League co-MVP and All-Prep League First Team as a junior in 2021
