WASHINGTON – The No. 16/20 Hoyas tied Pepperdine on Thursday evening 1-1 in Malibu. With the tie, Georgetown opens the regular season at 0-0-1.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"This was certainly a tough challenge out of the gate for us and it says something about this team's makeup that a draw on the road felt like a loss. We never really got going in the first half but credit to Pepperdine, they are extremely well coached, and their team is well organized.
I was much happier with our second half and felt we really put them under some good pressure. Natalie scored a great goal to put us up by one and at that point I thought a second goal was coming. We had a few good looks but credit to Pepperdine they changed their system, threw caution to the wind and did a good job on the set piece equalizer. No time to feel sorry for ourselves as LMU is up next on Sunday."

- GU continued to generate opportunities after Means' goal but was unable to find the back of the net for a second time.
