Box Score WASHINGTON — Georgetown University's women's volleyball (4-0) defeated Radford (0-4) in four sets to go undefeated through four matches for the first time since 2012. As nonconference play continues, the Hoyas are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the BIG EAST, alongside Xavier (3-0).
"Radford pushed us when we needed to be pushed," said Head Coach
AJ Bonetti, "I'm proud of our overall team effort, we needed everyone today and the team came through."
Hoya Highlights:
- Freshman Emily Wen set a career-high with a match-leading 43 assists. Wen alone had more assists than the entire Radford team (31 assists)
- Mary Grace Goyena continued her run of strong offensive performances totaling a match-high 16 kills
- After being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, Peyton Wilhite was an influence on both sides of the ball, with 13 kills, seven digs, and five total blocks against Radford.
- The Hoyas finished with 52 kills, a season-high. They also set a season-high for players used in one match, with 11 different student-athletes taking the court.
- Georgetown's victory puts them at 4-0 for the first time since the 2012 season
Radford Notes:
- Junior Olivia Flanagan led Radford with eight kills
- Summer Campbell had a match-high seven total blocks
- Radford's next game in the VCU Invitational will be against the hosts, taking on the Rams at 6 p.m. Friday
