About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas (2-1-1, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) have had an extended 10-day break after Friday's contest at Maryland was postponed due to inclement weather in the area. The Hoyas and Terps were set to take the pitch before lightning in the area called the match to a halt. It never kicked off and was postponed to a later date.
  • Georgetown tied with Fordham University on Labor Day in a tough 3-3 result with the Rams scoring the equalizer in the final 10 seconds of the match.
  • The trio of Maximus Jennings, Cole Parete and Zach Zengue scored their first-career goals on the Hilltop.
  • Earlier in the weekend, GU upended No. 8/8 Pitt on Friday afternoon in the home opener at Shaw Field with a 4-1 victory.
  • Senior Kyle Linhares tallied a pair of goals, while senior captain Kenny Nielsen and junior Joe Buck both added scores as GU dominated the game. It was the first time in Linhares' career that he had a multi-goal game.
  • Last week, Linhares was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week while Jennings earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Linhares co-led the BIG EAST with six points in a pair of matches, tallying a pair of goals and dishing out two assists.
  • In addition to the goal against Fordham, Jennings also made an incredible save off the back line to preserve the tie.
  • It marked the first weekly award of both Hoyas' careers.
About the Pirates
  • Seton Hall is 3-1-1 on the season and enters the match coming off of a 1-1 tie at Harvard.
  • SHU's three victories of the season came against Rider (1-0), Air Force (3-0) and Ohio State (1-0) earlier this season.
  • Mats Roorda was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after the graduate student made eight saves in goal for the Pirates in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Harvard.
  • The Pirates are led by Andrea Borg who has two goals and as many assists for six points on the year. Both Borg and James Boote have a pair of goals on the season.
  • Seton Hall was picked to finish fourth in the East Division in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll. The Pirates received 36 points in the poll and sat behind third-place St. John's (40 points), second-place Providence (56 points) and first-place Georgetown (66 points).
  • The Pirates finished last season in second place in the BIG EAST standings after amassing 17 points during conference play.
Series Info
  • Georgetown is 23-17-4 all-time against Seton Hall and 9-7-2 on the road.
  • Last year, the Hoyas downed Seton Hall 2-0 at Shaw Field as Marlon Tabora tallied a goal and assist, while Jacob Murrell added the insurance goal.
  • The last meeting in New Jersey was a battle as the then No. 1/1 Hoyas defeated Seton Hall 4-2 behind four first-half Hoya scores.
  • Zach Riviere, Joe DaLuz, Will Sands and Daniel Wu all tallied a goal in the 2021 showdown.
