WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's volleyball team won both games at the Delaware State Tournament on Saturday, defeating NJIT 3-0 (28-26, 25-17, 25-19) and edging Delaware St 3-2 (22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 28-30, 15-10). With their 3-0 victory over Penn on Friday, the Hoyas finish 3-0 in the Tournament and move to 9-6 on the season.

AJ Bonetti. "Tons of credit to Delaware State, they played their tails off, but I love the way our team pushed through another tough environment and showed how much resilience we have gained during this pre-conference schedule. We are excited to head into Big East next week!"

Emily Wen. "Finishing out the weekend in this way against such a good team really helped us in our journey of defining who we are. I'm very grateful for the opportunities we have been given thus far and this win definitely gave us some of the confidence we needed heading into the Big East!
Against NJIT:
- Peyton Wilhite led the Hoya offense, tallying 12 kills and one ace. Grace Albaugh added nine kills and one ace, and Mary Grace Goyena added eight kills and three aces.
- Kamryn Lee-Caracci had a career-high four aces. Georgetown as a team found success serving, tying their season high of nine service aces in a match.
- Each Hoya did their part on defense, with Karis Park setting a match high with 10 digs, Albaugh adding eight, Wilhite and Goyena adding seven, and Emily Wen with five.
- Wen also set a game high with 25 assists across the three-set match.
NJIT Notes
- Graduate student Adriana Goetz-Morales led the NJIT offense with seven kills. Mariana Cova was not far behind, tallying six in the match.
- Campbell Walker anchored the defense with a team-high eight digs.
- NJIT finishes the Delaware State Tournament winless, falling to Delaware State and Georgetown 3-0, and to Penn 3-1.
Against Delaware State:
- Freshman Emily Wen was everywhere for the Hoyas finishing with 54 assists, the most by a BIG EAST freshman this season, and tied for fourth most overall.
- Lee-Caracci led the Hoyas with a career-high 21 kills, the most by a Georgetown player this season. She reached this total on an impressively efficient .594 hitting percentage.
- Goyena added 12 kills and Albaugh had 10 to round out the Blue & Gray's offense.
- Karis Park set a season high with 21 digs.
Delaware State Notes:
- Alondra Maldonado was the focal point of the Hornets attack, scoring 23 kills. Valeria Otero added a season-high 14.
- Junior Kelsie Dawson had a game-high four total blocks, all solo. This is a new career high in solo blocks for the middle blocker.
- The tournament hosts finish 2-1, defeating NJIT 3-1 and Penn 3-0 before they fell to Georgetown Saturday night.
- The match was the second five-set match in a long week for the Hornets, who won 3-2 at LIU on Tuesday.
Up Next for the Hoyas:
The Hoyas will begin BIG EAST play next weekend, traveling to DePaul on Friday and Marquette on Saturday.
