WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Men's and Women's cross country teams will head to Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend to compete in the Virginia Invitational. This is the Blue & Gray's second outing of the season after opening the 2023 campaign at the Spider Alumni Open. The women are ranked 12th nationally and first in the Mid-Atlantic Region in this week's USTFCCCA poll. The men are ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic Region and received votes in the national poll.

• The meet will begin with the men's 8k at 8:45 am. The women will compete in a 5k at 9:30.

ABOUT THE NO. 12 GEORGETOWN WOMEN

• In a poll released Tuesday, the women were ranked 12th nationally. They are also ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic Region in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
• Mary Hennelly led the Hoyas last time out, finishing eighth overall as the team earned a third place finish at the Spider Alumni Open. All seven Georgetown runners finished in the top 30 in the competition.
• The Hoya lineup features three runners who finished in the top 15 at the 2022 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships: Chloe Gonzalez (10th), Melissa Riggins (12th), and Chloe Scrimgeour (14th).

• The Georgetown men opened their season with a strong performance at the Spider Alumni Open, finishing second behind Lucas Guerra's second overall finish. Sophomore Charlie North also finished sixth.
• Headlining the Hoyas lineup is Two-Time All-American Parker Stokes who finished fourth at the 2022 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships.
• Fellow top-25 finishers at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships Camden Gilmore (17th), Guerra (18th),  Abel Teffra (21st), and Matthew Rizzo (23rd) also return to the Georgetown lineup.
