WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will close out a three-game road swing with a BIG EAST Conference matchup against the Butler University Bulldogs on Wednesday evening at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports presented by Invesco QQQ.

• Georgetown is sitting at 11-2 overall and 1-1 in BIG EAST Conference play.
• GU is coming off of a big 66-62 victory at DePaul on Sunday. The Hoyas used a fourth-quarter charge to pick up their first conference win of the season.
• Senior Kelsey Ransom led the way for the Hoyas with 23 points, including a 4-5 performance from beyond the arc, to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds as well as five steals.
• Sophomore Victoria Rivera had 10 points to round out those in double figures.
• Graduate student Graceann Bennett led GU on the glass with 10 rebounds and seven points, and classmate Mya Bembry was also solid with eight points and as many rebounds to her credit.
• The Hoyas shot 44.6% (25-56) from the field, and the Blue & Gray allowed 40.6% (26-64) shooting by the Blue Demons.
• GU outrebounded DePaul 38-32, and Georgetown forced 12 Blue Demon turnovers on eight steals.
• For her efforts against DePaul and in a 57-55 win over Kennesaw State, Ransom was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for the fourth time this season.
• Senior Kelsey Ransom leads the team in almost all categories. She is ninth in the league in scoring (15.5 ppg), 12th in rebounding (6.5 rpg), sixth in assists (3.7 apg) and leads the league with an impressive 2.8 steals per game.
• Junior Brianna Scott is second on the team with 8.8 ppg as well as 6.8 rpg and 1.8 bpg, while Bennett rounds out the top three with 8.2 ppg along with a team-best 7.3 rpg.
• The Hoyas are leading the league and ranked fourth in the nation in scoring defense averaging 49.2 ppg as well as leading the BIG EAST and ranking ninth in the nation in field goal percentage defense at 33.0 percent.

About the Bulldogs

• Butler is 8-4 overall and 0-1 in BIG EAST play after falling to UConn, 88-62, in December.
• The Bulldogs are coming off of a 69-49 victory over Ohio University on December 21 so the matchup with the Hoyas will be their first game since before the holidays.
• Butler is led by Caroline Strande who averages 15.0 ppg to go along with 7.7 rpg.
• She is followed by Rachel Kent and Jordan Meulemans who average 11.2 and 10.8 ppg, respectively.

Series Info

• Georgetown is 10-11 in the series with Butler, and 4-6 on the road.
• The teams met three times last season with the Bulldogs winning both regular season matchups, but the Hoyas getting the 53-46 victory in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tournament.
• In that win, Jada Claude led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Scott scored 11 points with six boards and two blocks.
• The last meeting at Hinkle was a 58-56 loss a season ago.
