WASHINGTON - Georgetown women's tennis fell on the road to Maryland on Saturday, January 20 before defeating Richmond 5-2 at home on Sunday, January 21. its victory against Richmond was the first win of the season, bringing GU's record to 1-2.

In their first match against Maryland, the Hoyas duo of Chloe Bendetti and Katie Garofolo-Ro earned an impressive 6-3 win over Maryland's Francesca Feodorov and Selma Cadar. 

Against Richmond, the Hoyas opened their match sweeping the Spiders in doubles. Bendetti and Garofolo-Ro earned another win while the duos of Olivia Ashton and Tatiana Zelenko and Paige Gilbert and Emily Novikov also came out on top.

In singles, Garofolo-Ro and Novikov as well as Avantika Willy and Morgan Coburn earned victories, securing the 5-2 win for the Blue & Gray.
