No. 19 Georgetown Travels to UConn on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The No. 19 Georgetown University men's soccer team will travel to Storrs, Connecticut for a BIG EAST Conference matchup against the UConn Huskies on Saturday evening at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (5-3-4, 2-1 BE) is coming off of a scoreless draw at UMBC in GU's final nonconference match of the season.
  • Prior to the UMBC contest, the Blue & Gray downed No. 21 Providence 3-0 last Friday afternoon.
  • All three goals came in the second half as Marlon Tabora, Zach Zengue and Matthew Van Horn all found the back of the net. Zengue added an assist as well.
  • For their efforts, Zengue was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, and Maximus Jennings earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his role in the shutout.
  • Freshman Mitchell Baker is leading the Hoya offense with four goals and two assists for 10 points on the season.
  • Van Horn and Zengue are tied for second, tallying three goals and one assist for seven points on the year apiece.
  • Eric Howard has a squad-best three assists for the Blue & Gray.
  • Tenzing Manske has seen a majority of the minutes in the net for the Hoyas. He holds a 0.67 goals-against average and a .793 save percentage to go along with 23 saves, a 4-3-2 record and five shutouts for the year.
About the Huskies
  • UConn is 7-1-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Huskies are currently ranked No. 19 in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
  • UConn suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to Vermont 1-0.
  • Prior to Tuesday, UConn was unbeaten through its first ten games marking the first time the team had hit that milestone since 2012.
  • Eli Conway and Sabri Hanni lead the Huskies with ten points apiece.  Max Kerkvliet has played all of the minutes in goal this season, ranking second in the nation in save percentage (0.857).
Series Info
  • The Hoyas are 16-14-4 all-time against the Huskies and 2-10-3 in Storrs.
  • Last year, the squads met twice as GU defeated UConn at home by a score of 3-0, and then again in the BIG EAST semifinal winning 2-0.
