Georgetown Football Faces Colgate on the Road

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team will head north to Hamilton, New York to take on Patriot League foe Colgate. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are receiving votes for the second time in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll after a 17-0 road victory over the defending Patriot League Champions Lafayette last Saturday. 
  • The Georgetown defense held the Leopards scoreless through all four quarters and tallied four interceptions, four sacks and 12 PBU. 
  • Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week Cooper Blomstrom led the Hoyas with four tackles, two sacks for a loss of 11 yards and returned one interception for seven yards. The sophomore also leads the league with an average of 1.58 TFLs per game for a total of nine.  
  • In the win over the Leopards, freshman Savion Hart and sophomore Ude Enyerlbe scored their first career touchdowns.
  • Last weekend, Patrick Ryan went 2-2 on PATs and completed a 26-yard field goal. The senior also punted seven times for 271 yards. This season, Ryan is 5-7 in field goals and 17-18 in PATs.
  • The Blue & Gray's defense leads the league with an average of 19.5 points against per game. GU also leads in sacks (20) and interceptions (9).
  • Jimmy Kibble leads GU receivers with 31 catches for 459 yards and one touchdown.  
  • Cam Pygatt leads the league with the longest reception this season at 77 yards. 
  • Quarterback Danny Lauter has thrown 116 completions for 1246 yards and five touchdowns. 
  • Georgetown leads the FCS with 20 sacks (average of 3.33 per game). Blomstrom is second in the league with five followed by David Ealey III in third with 3.5. 
  • Naieem Kearney leads the Blue & Gray's ground game with six rushing touchdowns. The running back has rushed for 313 yards on 61 attempts.
ABOUT THE RAIDERS
  • Colgate is coming off of a 38-7 loss against Holy Cross in its Patriot League opening contest. 
  • Michael Brescia leads the Raiders' ground game with 52 rushes for 290 yards and four touchdowns. 
  • Colgate has utilized three quarterbacks this season with Jake Stearney leading the way with 85 completions for 694 yards and three touchdowns. 
  • Cole Kozlowski leads the defense with 65 tackles and six TFLs for a loss of 29 yards. 
  • Kicker Luke Vogeler is 12-12 in PATs and 6-8 in field goals. 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Colgate will meet for the 21st time in program history. The Hoyas are 1-19 against the Raiders. 
  • The last time the Hoyas beat the Raiders was a 40-17 victory on the Hilltop in 2011.
