No. 14/19 Hoyas Host DePaul on Senior Day

WASHINGTON - The No. 14/19 Georgetown University men's soccer team will welcome the DePaul Blue Demons to Shaw Field on Saturday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Georgetown alums Dan Helfrich and Tom Greaser in their 20th season on the call.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-3-5, 4-1-1 BE) is coming off of a 3-3 draw against Villanova earlier this week.
  • The Hoyas outshot the Wildcats 30-8, and battled back from a deficit on two occasions.
  • Freshman defender Tate Lampman put the Hoyas on the board in the second period with his first-career goal.
  • On Monday, sophomore Eric Howard was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his performance in a 2-0 win over Seton Hall.
  • Howard had the shot which rebounded to result in the first goal for the Hoyas. He is also a key component in the backline that had its ninth shutout on the season.
  • Sophomore Matthew Van Horn is leading the Hoya offense with five goals and two assists for twelve points on the season.
  • Freshman Mitchell Baker follows just behind with ten points on four goals and two assists, while junior Zach Zengue sits at third with three goals and two assists for eight points on the year.
  • Howard, Max Viera, and Joe Buck lead the squad in assists, with three apiece.
  • Junior Tenzing Manske has seen a majority of the minutes in the net for the Hoyas. He holds a 0.55 goals-against average and a 0.818 save percentage to go along with 27 saves, a 6-3-2 record and seven shutouts for the year.
  • Saturday will also be Senior Day for the Hoyas as they honor their eight graduating seniors.
About the Blue Demons
  • DePaul (5-6-3, 1-3-2 BE) is coming off a 2-2 tie against Marquette on Wednesday, following a 0-4 loss to No. 24 Akron last weekend.
  • The Blue Demons outshot Marquette 17-13, though DePaul trailed behind 6-3 in shots on goal.
  • Sophomores Noeh Hernandez and Liam Mullins scored a goal apiece.
  • Hernandez leads the DePaul offense with seven goals and seven assists for a whopping 21 points.
