WASHINGTON– The Georgetown football team's defense held off the Bison to earn a 21-20 victory on Cooper Field on Saturday evening. The Hoyas advance to 2-1 in league play and 5-3 overall while Bucknell is now 1-1 in the Patriot League and 3-4 overall.
ON THE RECORD
"That's what it's all about. We talked about SISU all the time, uncommon resilience and courage in the face of adversity without complaint. Our kids came out and went down early and never flinched. It was awesome to see so many guys come together on the sideline and put us in a position to get a win. That's a really good Bucknell team and I give them a lot of credit. Each week in the Patriot League you are going to have to come out and play your best. Our best football is definitely in front of us. We look forward to learning the lessons from this week as we prepare to play a very good Lehigh team on Cooper Field. " - Head Coach
Rob Sgarlata on today's contest.
