Hoyas Head to Howard for the “Battle at the Burr” this Weekend

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving teams will face cross-town rival Howard in the third annual "Battle at the Burr" on Saturday, October 5. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. at the Burr Gym Pool.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

In last year's Battle of the Burr, both the men's and women's teams brought home the victory, with the men outscoring Howard 125-99 and the women winning 127-97.
The women's team placed first in six different events.
Kira Agne and Ashley Vensel finished first and second with times of 10:31.90 and 10:48.73 respectively in the 1000 free.
Genevieve Youngman finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.57 while Angelica Reali came in second with a time of 56.69.
Madeline Malone placed first in the 100 free with a time of 51.90.
Women's diving took the top three spots in the 1M Dive, with Lizzy Durgin leading the pack with a score of 239.80 followed by Wynter Bramao and Audrey Dietz
The Georgetown men's swim team also took home six individual event victories.
Jack Januario and Michael Mostofi went one and two in the 1000 free, posting times of 9:56.25 and 10:04.63 respectively.
The Hoyas swept the podium in the 200 IM, with Jack Brearton leading the pack with a time of 1:54.71 followed by Nick Pezzela and Will Daniel in times of 1:55.10 and 1:59.76, respectively.
Grant Closson finished first in the 100 free in a time of 47.57.
Conor Jellig took first in the 500 free with a time of 4:43.55.
Bailey De Luise and Ansen Meyer took first and second in the breaststroke with times of 56.90 and 57.6, respectively.
Men's diving took the top four spots in the 1M dive led by Charlie Reichle with a score of 272.
