WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team captured nine All-Patriot League selections as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Sebastian Alonso earned a First Team Special Teams selection while
Cooper Blomstrom,
GianCarlo Rufo,
David Ealey III,
Zeraun Daniel and
Preston Murray were named to the Defensive Second Team.
Jimmy Kibble was selected to the Offensive Second Team and
Patrick Ryan and
Kenneth Borders were selected to the Special Teams Second Team.
Sebastian Alonso | First Team Special Teams | Sr. | LS
- Played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
- Recorded four tackles this season.
- Named to the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team.
Cooper Blomstrom | Second Team Defense | So. | DL
- Played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
- He was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on September 2 and October 14.
- Led the defense with 12.5 tackles for a loss of 65 yards, 6.5 sacks, 16 quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
- Blomstrom is the only Hoyas to earn a safety.
- The defensive lineman also recorded 55 tackles (32 solo, 23 assists).
GianCarlo Rufo | Second Team Defense | So. | LB
- Saw action in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
- Earned four Patriot League Honorable Mentions.
- Led the Hoyas with 83 tackles, (47 solo, 36 assists).
- This season he recorded 6.5 TFLs, three sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
David Ealey III | Second Team Defense | Gr. | LB
- The linebacker was named Team Captain.
- Earned on Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention.
- Played in all 11 games for GU.
- Recorded 77 tackles (46 solo, 31 assists), 8 TFLs, six sacks, one interception, two pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Zeraun Daniel | Second Team Defense | So. | DB
- Played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
- Led the defense with five interceptions.
- Recorded 60 tackles (42 solo, 18 assists), three TFLs and five pass breakups.
Preston Murray | Second Team Defense | Gr. | DB
- Saw action in all 11 games for GU.
- Earned a Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention for the week of September 20.
- Recorded 42 tackles (27 solo, 15 assists), 3.5 TFLs, three interceptions and six pass breakups.
Jimmy Kibble | Second Team Offense | Jr. | WR
- Played in 10 games for the Hoyas.
- Led the Patriot League with 720 reception yards on 46 receptions.
- Recorded three touchdown catches.
- His longest catch of the season was for 60 yards against Brown.
Patrick Ryan | Second Team Special Teams | Sr. | PK
- Played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
- The senior was named Special Teams Player of the week on September 2.
- He earned four Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mentions.
- Was 6-9 in field goals and 24-25 in PATs.
Kenneth Borders | Second Team Special Teams | Sr. | STNS
- Saw action in nine games for the Hoyas.
- Recorded 11 tackles.
