WASHINGTON - Four members of the Georgetown University men's soccer team earned United Soccer Coaches All-East Region honors on Friday.
Maximus Jennings and
Zach Zengue both earned spots on the first team, while
Tenzing Manske and
Matthew Van Horn were second team honorees. Of the 25 honorees in the East Region, an impressive 18 came from the BIG EAST Conference with Georgetown boasting four.
Maximus Jennings
First Team All-East Region
- Jennings was a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree.
- He started all 21 games he appeared in and had one goal for two points on the season.
- On defense, the team captain was part of a backline that posted 11 shutouts on the year.
- Jennings was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on both 9/3 and 10/14 and earned a nod to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on 10/7.
- He was a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection, and this is Jennings' first regional honor.
- Last year, Drafted by Real Salt Lake with the 18th pick in the third round and 76th overall in the MLS Draft.
Zach Zengue
First Team All-East Region
- Zengue was a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree.
- He started 19 of the 21 games he appeared in for the Blue & Gray.
- He ranked second on the team in scoring with three goals and a squad-high seven assists for 13 points on the year.
- The junior boasted three multi-point games including two goals against Cornell, a goal and an assist in the win over Providence, and an impressive three assists in the victory over DePaul.
- Zengue was named the Offensive Player of the Week on 10/7 and earned nods to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on 9/9 and 10/28.
- He was a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection.
- This is Zengue's first regional honor.
- Last year, he was selected by the Columbus Crew in the second round with the 29th pick and 58th overall in the MLS Draft.
Tenzing Manske
Second Team All-East Region
- Manske was a Third Team All-BIG EAST selection.
- He started in all 17 games he played in for the Blue & Gray with a record of 10-5-2 overall.
- Masnke combined for 11 shutouts, including eight solo clean sheets, and had 41 saves on the year.
- The Santa Fe, New Mexico native had an impressive 0.71 goals-against average and a .77 save percentage this past season.
- Manske was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on 9/23 and earned a nod to the Honor Roll on 10/14.
- This is Manske's first regional honor.
Matthew Van Horn
Second Team All-East Region
- Van Horn was a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree.
- He started 13 of the 21 games he played for the Blue & Gray.
- He led the team in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points on the year.
- The North Pole, Alaska native had four game winners, and had a goal and an assist in GU's contest at Villanova.
- Van Horn earned a nod to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on 9/23.
- This is Van Horn's first regional honor.
