Two Hoyas Selected in 2025 MLS SuperDraft

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer saw a pair of players selected in the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft presented by adidas on Friday. Sophomore defender Eric Howard was the fifth pick of the second round selected 35th overall by the New England Revolution. Additionally, classmate Matthew Van Horn was the 75th overall pick by the Colorado Rapids going 15th in the third round.

Beginning last year, the SuperDraft was expanded to include college players who are collegiate sophomores and above, Generation adidas players, any former college player who departed college with remaining eligibility since the conclusion of the college season approximately one (1) year prior to the SuperDraft, and other players specifically made available by the League. Drafted players with collegiate eligibility remaining can opt to return to school in the fall. Any drafted player who opts to return to college in the fall of 2025 or turns professional will not be draft-eligible in the future.

This past year, the Hoyas had two players who were drafted on the roster as Zach Zengue was selected by the Columbus Crew 29th in the second round and 58th overall, while Maximus Jennings was drafted by Real Salt Lake in the third round with the 18th pick and 76th overall.
