Hoyas Host Villanova on Tuesday in School Day Game

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team is at home for another BIG EAST Conference matchup against Villanova on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. at McDonough Arena. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports presented by Invesco QQQ.

  • Senior Kelsey Ransom led the way for the Hoyas with 22 points, two assists, two steals and a block as the lone Hoya in double figures.

  • The Blue & Gray shot 31.0% (18-58) from the field, and Georgetown allowed 30.8% (16-52) shooting by the Friars.

  • The Hoyas are second the league and ranked 17th in the nation in scoring defense averaging 48.0 ppg.
About the Wildcats
  • Villanova is 15-8 overall and 8-4 in the league after a win at Marquette 55-52 on Saturday.
  • Three Wildcats scored in double figures, with Lucy Olsen leading with 19 points. She also added three assists and forced three turnovers in the game.
  • Bella Runyan contributed 13 points, while Christina Dalce added 10. Dalce notched her eighth double-double of the season with 10 rebounds in the contest, also making five blocks.
  • Olsen leads the Wildcats averaging 23.0 ppg, which leads the BIG EAST. She is the only Wildcat averaging double figures.
  • Dalce ranks first in the BIG EAST for rebounding (10.1 rpg) and blocks (2.3 bpg).

  • The Hoyas are 24-49 all-time against the Wildcats dating back to 1980-81, and GU is 14-18 at home.
  • The last contest was a close overtime contest earlier in the season in Villanova, with the Hoyas falling 53-51.
