WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team came from behind to defeat the VMI Keydets 8-5 on Sunday afternoon winning the three-game series 2-1. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 3-4 on the season while VMI slides to 3-5 on the season.
ON THE RECORD
"What a great day for our team and I am so proud of how we fought. Being down 4-0 in the first inning was a challenge and
Everett Catlett gave us a gutty, gritty performance going six full innings.
Cody Jensen and
Nick Davis were outstanding out of the bullpen for us. The offensive production in the fourth inning was great starting with
Owen Carapellotti's home run giving us some life. With two outs in the inning, we scored five runs, and a late home run gave us some insurance that we needed. Overall, I am really happy with our performance and that is a very good VMI team that we beat on the road and I am really proud of our group getting the job done this weekend." – Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
