WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team downed the UAlbany Great Danes 16-5 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, The Hoyas improve to 12-6 on the year while UAlbany falls to 0-13. Game three of the series is scheduled for tomorrow, March 17 with first pitch coming at 1 p.m. at Capital One Park.
ON THE RECORD
"Another competitive game. In the early part of that game, UAlbany came out and was able to get to us a little bit but every time they scored, we responded, and I am proud of our offense and how they played today. I thought today came down to
Andrew Citron who came out of the bullpen and threw a career-high 4.1 innings and got his first-collegiate win on the mound and that was amazing to see, and I am really proud of him for coming out and giving us what he did.
Ayden Head behind him was also solid and closed the game out for us which was good to see.
Josh Rolling made one of the best catches that I think I have ever seen in person to help us out defensively and he had an amazing day going 3-for-3 with three walks.
Christian Ficca,
Derek Smith and
Kavi Caster also had some great moments at the plate. I am really proud of our group coming out here and winning another series at home in front of an amazing crowd. We are looking forward to coming out here tomorrow and having the opportunity to take all three this weekend." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
