WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped Tuesday's contest 15-6 against the No. 14 Virginia Cavaliers. With the setback, the Hoyas slide to 13-7 while the Cavaliers improve to 17-5 on the season.
ON THE RECORD
"Congrats to UVA, they played a great game and were able to take our punches and punch back and we were unable to do that after they scored five in the fifth. I thought that
Matthew Sapienza,
Jack Volo and
Ayden Head did a good job today on the mound.
Josh Rolling and
Christian Ficca both did well at the plate for us getting two hits each and two walks each.
Michael Eze also had a solid day at the plate with two hits and a walk. They are the No. 14 team in the country and to beat them, we needed to play really well and unfortunately, we didn't play well enough to win but I am proud of our guy's effort and we will get back to work tomorrow before heading to Columbus this weekend." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
