WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes winning the series with an 8-5 victory on Saturday afternoon. ON THE RECORD
"Another great baseball game today and to come on the road against a Big Ten team and win the series is great. I am really proud of our organization, and I am really proud of how we competed all nine innings in tough conditions. I thought
Andrew Williams gave us a great start and our bullpen did a great job today of limiting them to just the one run. I thought
Nick Davis was great, going three innings to get his fifth save was really great to see and I am really happy for him. Offensively,
Jake Hyde,
Christian Ficca and
Owen Carapellotti were great for us at the plate, and I thought
Blake Schaaf coming off the bench again and getting that double was huge for us. It really broke their back, and he has done it back-to-back days now and I am really happy for him. I am proud of the group, and we will come out tomorrow ready to go for game three." -Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
