WASHINGTON – After the final day of play at the Lady Bison Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, the Georgetown University women's golf team successfully defended its team title from last spring. The two-day tournament, hosted by Howard University, was played on the par-71, 5,990-yard course at Hawkstone Country Club and a trio of Hoyas took the top spots including
Georgia Ruffolo winning the individual title, her first collegiate tournament win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia Ruffolo won her first collegiate tournament with an even 213 (74-68-71). Her 3-under 68 in the second round was the best of the tournament for the Hoyas and she closed on an even 71 in the final round fueled by a pair of birdies and 14 pars.
- Morgan Smith finished second in the tournament with a 3-over 216 (73-70-73). Her final round saw the freshman tally one birdie and 14 pars.
- Megan Gormley took third place at 6-over 219 (74-75-70). Tallying a 1-under 70 in the final round, the senior used a trio of birdies to go along with 14 pars to take third place.
- Claire Chen tied for seventh place with a three-day score of 13-over 226 (79-71-76). The freshman managed a trio of birdies on the day and tallied nine pars.
- Juliette Riot moved up nine spots to finish 28th overall at 23-over 236 (81-80-75). Her 4-over 75 on the final day was her best round as she tallied a pair of birdies to go along with 11 pars.
OF NOTE
- This is the third tournament win of the year for the Blue & Gray. GU's record for tournament wins in a season is five and that was during the 2017-18 season.
- It marks the first individual title of the season for the Hoyas.
