WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in 12th place after the first round at the GolfWeek Program Challenge in Pawley's Island, South Carolina. The Hoyas were 24-over 308 following one round of action on the par-71, 5,990-yard course at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, facing a 19-team field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia Ruffolo was the top Hoya through the first round, carding a 2-over 73 in the first 18 to sit in a tie for 13th place. She tallied a trio of birdies on the day, a pair on the front nine and one on the back nine, to go along with 10 pars for the day.
- Morgan Smith was steady on the day, finishing the first round at 4-over 75 to tie for 31st after one round of play. She managed a pair of birdies to go along with a team-best 12 pars in the first round.
- Megan Gormley carded a 6-over 77 to sit in a tie for 51st place following one round of action. The senior tallied 12 pars on the round, six apiece on the front and back nine.
- Juliette Riot finished round one at 7-over 78, competing as an individual and currently tied for 64th place. She tied with Ruffolo for most birdies on the day with three, to go along with six pars.
- Claire Chen shot a 12-over 83 in the first round, currently sitting in a tie for 95th place. The freshman totaled nine pars for the round, five on the front and four on the back nine.
- Vicky Zhu was the final Hoya on the leaderboard, tallying an 88 on the day, good enough for 103rd place. She settled down a bit more on the back nine, recording a pair of birdies over the final five holes and managed a quartet of pars for the round.
