WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team swept Butler in Saturday's doubleheader winning the contests 13-4 and 9-5. With the win, the Hoyas have now won eight-consecutive weekend series. GU is now 25-9 on the year and 7-1 in BIG EAST action while Butler slides to 13-20 on the season and 1-4 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"What a great day for the Hoyas, it was a close ballgame. Their pitcher did an amazing job for the first part of the game and kept us off balance. In the sixth inning, we made some adjustments offensively and we had some big hits in the back part of the game. We were able to stay in the game because of
Andrew Williams, he kept us in it.
Cody Bowker behind him was great as well and using only two pitchers in the game and securing the series was great for us. Eight-consecutive weekend series wins is hard to do, and I am proud of the way we competed here on the road, and we played good defense today. I thought
Ashtin Gilio,
Owen Carapellotti,
Kavi Caster had some big hits and a lot of guys contributed today to getting two wins. Overall, great day for the Hoyas and we will come back ready to go tomorrow for game three." -Head Coach
