TYSONS, Va. – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped game one of the three-game set with UConn 7-6 on Friday evening. With the loss, GU slides to 26-11 on the season and 8-2 in BIG EAST play while UConn improves to 18-18 and 5-2 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"What a Friday night baseball game in the BIG EAST, two great teams going at it. Unfortunately, we came up short, their pitcher did an outstanding job commanding his pitches and the zone. Their bullpen was pretty lights out as well. I am proud of our fight and how we competed.
Cody Bowker gave us a great start which was nice to see, and we are glad to have him back.
Owen Carapellotti had some big hits, unfortunately they had one more big hit than us. We will regroup and come out here tomorrow ready to compete." Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
