How It Happened

- Coming out of the locker room, scoring was scarce in the third period as Carroll scored the lone goal for either side to make it 7-4 in favor of the Hoyas with 15 minutes to play. Moore had eight of his 14 saves in the frame.
- Not backing down, Marquette scored three goals to open the final stanza and knot things up at 7-7 with 12:50 to play. Undeterred, the Georgetown offense went to work and scored four-straight goals over the next 11 minutes to put the game out of reach.
