WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in third place at 36-over 604 (303-295) following two rounds of action in Piscataway, New Jersey on Saturday. The nine-team field played 36 holes and has another 18 to go tomorrow on the par-71, 6,016-yard course at the Rutgers University Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Megan Gormley is currently the top Hoya as the senior is tied for fifth place at 6-over 148 (78-70). Her 1-under 70 in the second round was the best 18-hole score for a Hoya on the day. Her first round saw a trio of birdies and seven pars while her second round featured five birdies and nine pars. She opened her second round on back-to-back birdies and closed the day on a birdie to finish under par.
• Morgan Smith is tied for 13th at 9-over 151 (75-76). Her first round featured a pair of birdies and 10 pars. She opened the day with a birdie on two of her first three holes. The second round for the freshman included 12 pars.
• Claire Chen is tied for 15th at 10-over 152 (73-79). Her 1-over 73 in the first round was fueled by four birdies and nine pars. Chen was strong on the front nine in the second round, tallying a birdie on three of four holes (6, 8, 9) but cooled off on the back nine as she managed seven pars in the round.
• Georgia Ruffolo currently sits at 11-over 153 (79-74) to tie for 17th. Starting on hole 1, she managed a birdie and four pars on the front nine before gaining some consistency on the back to close on six-straight pars. Her second round included a pair of birdies and 11 pars.
• Vicky Zhu is tied for 38th at 20-over 162 (79-83). She closed her first round on a birdie to go along with nine pars. In the second round, she managed eight pars, including five consecutive to close the day.
• Juliette Riot rounds out the Hoyas at 22-over 164 (80-84) to be tied for 46th. In the first round, she managed a pair of birdies and eight pars. Her second round featured another eight pars.
