WASHINGTON – Head Coach
Edwin Thompson garnered his 100th career victory on the Hilltop as the Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Boston College Eagles 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Georgetown improves to 32-18 on the season, tying the program record for most wins in a season which was set in 2022 and Boston College sides to 22-28.
ON THE RECORD
"What a great win from our team and for our program. An old BIG EAST rivalry so it was really special for us to win tonight. I thought
Marcello Mastroianni did an unbelievable job giving us six innings like he did. Behind him,
Andrew Citron,
Marshall Whitmer who had a big inning, and
Nick Davis getting his seventh save was great. That is why he is one of the best closers in the country and we are really grateful to have him. I am proud of our team and our fight,
Michael Eze,
Kavi Caster had some big hits and we played some really good baseball against a good team on the road in the ACC. I am really proud of our group and the way we responded and we will be ready to go against St. John's on Thursday." - Head Coach
