WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team set a new program record for most wins in a season (33) in a 1-0 victory over St. John's in Queens, N.Y. on Thursday evening. The Hoyas advance to 33-18 overall and 12-6 in BIG EAST action.

Kavi Caster that was all we needed tonight. Our pitching was historic tonight with
Cody Bowker pitching for seven innings and 10 strikeouts.

Nick Davis came out and got the save. I am just really proud of our guys for earning a school record in wins and tying the program record for most conference wins. Tomorrow we are going to come back and try to win this series, " - said Head Coach

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Cody Bowker was sensational tossing seven scoreless frames allowing four hits while fanning 10 SJU batters en route to his fifth win of the season. Bowker's seven inning appearance is the longest of his collegiate career.
- Jordan Yoder tossed one scoreless frame striking out one.
- Nick Davis earned his ninth save of the season on the mound striking out the final two batters of the game.
- Owen Carapellotti was 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Christian Ficca went 1-for-4.
- Kavi Caster was 1-for-3 with a solo home run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless opening frame, Kavi Caster blasted his 10th home run of the season to deep right field giving GU an early 1-0 advantage.
- Bowker came out of the gates hot fanning three SJU batters in the first two frames.
- The third and fourth frames were scoreless for both sides as Bowker was dealing on the mound. The sophomore struck out three Red Storm batters in a row in the bottom of the fourth after allowing a leadoff walk.
- The fifth and sixth innings were more of the same as both sides defense and pitching was superb through six as the lone run of the contest was Caster's homer in the second.
- After seven shutout innings, Bowker was relieved by Yoder who kept the Hoya momentum going in the eighth frame. Bowker tossed seven innings allowing four hits and no runs while fanning 10 SJU batters.
- After a scoreless top of the ninth, Davis came in needing three outs to secure the victory. After getting a first pitch ground out, Davis struck out back-to-back batters securing his ninth save of the season on the mound. With the 1-0 victory, Georgetown secured its 33rd win of the season marking a new program best.
OF NOTE
- Bowker totaled 10 strikeouts to secure his fifth win of the season on the mound.
- Carapellotti, Ficca and Caster each tallied one hit.
