WASHINGTON – On Sunday, July 7, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee released its full list of athletes competing at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Georgetown incoming freshman on the track & field team was named to the men's 4x400m relay squad. Marchan is one of 17 athletes (7 females, 10 males) who will be representing Trinidad and Tobago across three sports (athletics, cycling, swimming). Marchan joins Kirsten Kasper as the two Olympians from the Georgetown track & field program as well as former women's basketball player Brianna Jones who will compete for Puerto Rico. The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will take place July 26-August 11, 2024.
JADEN MARCHAN
- In addition to being named to the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic 4x400m squad, Marchan is the 2024 New Jersey Indoor State Champion in the 400-meter dash and the 2023 New Jersey Outdoor State Championship runner-up in the 400m.
- Prior to the NGC/NAAATT Junior and Senior Championships, Marchan had a PR of 21.55 in the 200-meter dash and 47.44 in the 400-meter dash. However, competing in the men's 400-meter prelims and finals, he ran 47.00 in the prelims and clocked 46.30 in the finals.
- The incoming freshman was named to the Olympic team following the championships, where he finished second overall in the 400 meter dash.
- Marchan is listed as a member of the 4x400m relay and Trinidad and Tobago will send five athletes with one listed as a reserve.
KIRSTEN KASPER (B'13 SCS'14)
- In June, track & field alum Kirsten Kasper was named to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team, as one of five athletes who will represent the United States in the triathlon competitions at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
- Kasper will make her Olympic debut in Paris. She was introduced to triathlon in 2014 through USA Triathlon's Collegiate Recruitment Program, which identifies top NCAA runners and/or swimmers who have the potential to excel as triathletes.
- The highlight of Kasper's Georgetown career was being a scoring member of the 2011 NCAA Championship Women's Cross Country Team. The fourth to cross the finish line, she placed 64th and tallied 44 points with a time of 20:45.3 in the 6,000-meter race.
- She saw immediate success when began her triathlon career in 2014 being named USA Triathlon Rookie of the Year. For years, Kasper has been a key member of the U.S. Mixed Relay team. She was a member of the 2016 Mixed Relay World Championships gold medal team, the Mixed Relay World Championships silver medal team in 2017 and the Mixed Relay World Championships bronze medal team in 2018. Kasper is a 17-time World Triathlon podium finisher.

BRIANNA JONES (B'19, SCS'20)
- On the Hilltop, Jones averaged 6.6 ppg and pulled down 3.7 rpg in two seasons of action.
- Jones transferred to Georgetown from Louisville prior to her junior season, and had to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules.
- In her most recent professional season with Tianjin in China, Jones averaged 14.9 ppg.
- Puerto Rico's women's basketball team qualified the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after defeating New Zealand 69-67 in the pre-Olympic tournament being held in the city of Xian, China.
- After coming off a 88-40 defeat against France, Puerto Rico was able to recover to defeat New Zealand. To earn qualification to Paris, Puerto Rico had to beat New Zealand and China had to lose to the French team.
- This is Puerto Rico's second Olympic appearance, its first qualification in history booked them a spot at Tokyo 2020 where the team finished in 12th place at the Games.
- Jones is the first women's basketball player to appear in the Olympics in program history.
