WASHINGTON – The Georgetown Football team defeated the Davidson Wildcats 46-24 in the 2024 season opener on Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas advance to 1-0 while the Wildcats drop to 0-1.
ON THE RECORD
"It's great to open the season 1-0 on the Hilltop. Davidson does a great job with their program. It was a very close game to start out. I thought our kids did a great job adjusting to the speed of their option attack. David Ealey led us on defense as he had so many times before. We had some big defensive plays, especially from
Quincy Briggs. Anytime that you can run for over 270 yards and control the ball game on the ground makes for a great day. There are a ton of things that we will correct going from week one to week two and we are looking forward to getting back to work as we prepare to head to Marist." - Head Coach
Rob Sgarlata on today's contest.
