Hoyas Place Eighth at The Goat

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team secured an eighth-place finish at The Goat, a two-day, three-round tournament, with a total score of 851 across 54 holes. The team's score was calculated by taking the top four individual scores from each round. The Hoyas posted rounds of 297, 294, and 294 on the par-71, 7,025-yard Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Maryland.

CJ Winchenbaugh led the Hoyas, finishing at 2-over par, tying for 12th place overall.

Head Coach Tommy Hunter

"The Goat is an event that we were honored to be invited to. The golf course has moved into the top-15 in the state of Maryland. It's very difficult with firm and fast conditions paired with severe elevation changes. We came up short with our aspirations of a top-5 finish, yet we improved over the 54 holes of competition. I'm very proud of CJ's performance as well as senior co-captain Max Hutter as both were in the top-25. We have work to do as we prepare for The Hamptons Intercollegiate at Maidstone GC in early October."
