WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team is currently tied for eighth place following a pair of rounds at the 2024 Cavalier Regional Preview, hosted by the University of Virginia. The 12-team field played 36 holes of play on the par-71, 6,320-yard course at Birdwood Golf Club in Charlottesville. The Hoyas carded a two-round total of 28-over 596 (303-293) and are tied with Illinois for eighth place. The 20th-ranked host Cavaliers are currently in second place at 8-under 560, trailing a North Carolina squad that is receiving votes in the first Division I Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll of the fall season. The Tar Heels lead the field at 19-under 549.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Megan Gormley is currently tied for 15th at even 142 (73-69) following an impressive 2-under performance in the second round. Her day was fueled by five total birdies, including four in the second round, a season best mark for the graduate student. She totaled 26 pars (14/12) over the first two rounds.
- Following two rounds of action, Gabriella Eifrig sits at 5-over 147 (73-74) to be tied for 27th place. The freshman managed four birdies, two apiece in each of the first two rounds, to go along with 25 pars (13/12) on the day.
- Georgia Ruffolo is tied for 36th place after carding an 8-over 150 (78-72) following two rounds of action. Ruffolo struggled as she closed the first round but came roaring back in the second round, tallying all three of her birdies on the day in the second round. She added 23 pars (12/11) on the day.
- Charlotte Hillary is the fourth Hoya on the leaderboard at 17-over 159 (79-80) to be tied for 63rd following the day. Hillary posted a pair of birdies with one in each round as well as 16 pars (9/7) for the day.
- Catherine Qiu is right behind HIllary at 18-over 160 (82-78) after a pair of rounds. Her efforts have been fueled by 22 pars (10/12) on the day.
- Playing as an individual, Clarie Chen is currently in 69th place at 26-over 168 (85-83). For the day, she managed 19 pars with nine in the first round and 10 in the second round.
