Swimming & Diving to Open 2024-25 Campaign at the Potomac Relays

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving teams will kick off the 2024-25 season at the Potomac Relays on Friday, September 27 at American University. The relays will begin at 4 p.m. at Reeves Aquatic Center while the diving portion will be held at McCarthy Pool at 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

The men's team is celebrating its 75th anniversary while the women's team will be celebrating its 50th season on the Hilltop.
Last season, the men's team captured their third-straight BIG EAST Championship.
The Hoyas also picked up several honors at the BIG EAST Championship. Jack Januario was named Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Year while Nico Santiago was named Co-Most Outstanding Diver of the Year. Jack Leavitt along with assistant coaches Sam Milligan and Ceallach Gibbons were named Men's Coaching Staff of the Year while Jacob Miner was named Men's Diving Coach of the Year.
Georgetown returns 48 members from the 2023-24 team, 21 on the women's side and 27 on the men's.
Among the returners are several Hoyas who earned All-BIG EAST selections following their success at the conference championship in 2024. Those include Kira Agne, Ines Lovato, Sophia Ribeiro, Angelica Reali, Taplin Seelbach, Genevieve Youngman, Jack Brearton, Grant Closson, Bailey De Luise, Gabriel Gonda, Jordan Gross, Jack Januario, Conor Jellig, John McEachern, Ansen Meyer, Tomo Nozaki, Hriday Parekh and Nico Santiago.
The Hoyas welcome 17 newcomers to the Hilltop including one transfer from Villanova and two graduate transfers from Boston College and Amherst.

MEET NOTES

Georgetown is slated to go up against DMV rivals American, George Mason, Howard and Mount St. Mary's in the following relays: 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, 3x100 butterfly relay, 3x100 backstroke relay, 3x100 breaststroke relay, 500 freestyle relay, 4x100 IM relay, 1000 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay.
